A founding ethos of SimonBiologyTravel is to give back to the places we visit, empowering the local people to improve their own community.
Here are three ways we do that:
In coordination with local school, government, tribal, and civic leaders in Tanzania, we have purchased ingredients from local farmers that are used to prepare fresh hot lunches for over 1,300 Massai elementary school children for the last 2 years. These children, who walk up to 5km and spent 10 hours in school, would otherwise go without food all day. Click the photo to learn more about this fundraising effort.
To help reduce the global impact of our travel, every SimonBiologyTravel trip will offset our carbon emissions by funding Renewable Energy Credits.
